Our Vision:

"To create a purposeful educational environment where children of all abilities can learn and thrive"

North View Academy Trust is commited to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of our pupils, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be accessed below. We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism and work closely with statutory and voluntary sectors to ensure we fulfil our safeguarding duties.

SAFEGUARDING / CHILD PROTECTION

North View has a 'Safeguarding' information poster which identifies the Academy's Designated Safeguarding Officers, gives a brief overview to staff explaining - "Protecting those in our care from HARM, if you witness or suspect harm, or have any concern, you must ACT IMMEDIATELY" and the safeguarding referral process.

Safeguarding / Children Protection Related Policies

Keeping Children Safe in Education

Child Protection Policy - this policy sets out how North View Academy Trust will fulfil its safeguarding obligations to protect students from abuse or neglect, prevent impairment of their health and development, and ensure they are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care that enables pupils to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully.

E Safety Policy - as E Safety is an important aspect of strategic leadership within North View Academy, the Principal has ultimate responsibility to ensure that the policy and practices are embedded and monitored. This policy, supported by North View Academy's Acceptable Use Agreements for staff and pupils, is to protect the interests and safety of the Academy.

Preventing Radicalisation Policy - safeguarding children and young people from all risks of harm is an important part of a school's work and protecting them from extremism is one aspect of that. Schools have an important part to play in both educating children and young people about extremism and recognising when pupils start to become radicalised. In March 2015, new statutory duties were placed on schools by the Counter Terrorism and Security Act (2015) which means they must work to prevent children being drawn into extremism. This policy outlines our responsibilities with regard to the PREVENT Duty.

Anti-Bullying & Cyber-Cullying Policy

Educate Against Hate - a new website launched by the previous Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, to offer advice to parents, carers, school staff and leaders on practical ways to protect children from extremism and radicalisation.

Operation Encompass - a process which key adults in our academy are informed that a child attending their premises may have been affected by domestic abuse. This will usually mean that a child has been in a household where an incident of domestic abuse hase taken place, or has been exposed to domestic abuse.
